A MAN stole alcohol from a Port Seton supermarket before returning two weeks later to make threats of violence towards two employees.
Scott Hardie was caught taking alcohol without paying from the shelves of the village’s Co-op on October 7 last year.
The 41-year-old returned to the shop on October 19, where he began acting aggressively towards staff members Dylan McCardle and Steven Allan.
Hardie refused to leave when told to do so by the staff and uttered threats of violence towards the pair.
Police were contacted and Hardie, of Winton Park, Cockenzie, was subsequently arrested and charged.
Hardie appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last November, where he pleaded guilty to both offences, and he returned to the court to be sentenced last Tuesday.
But Sheriff Kevin McCarron was told that the social work reports previously called for were not yet prepared and sentence was deferred again to February 8.
