A PRIMARY school pupil’s colourful flag is welcoming visitors to a new housing development.

Daliya Vasileva designed a flag for the entrance to Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s Letham Meadows development, on the western edge of Haddington.

The primary six pupil at nearby Letham Mains Primary School received a £50 book voucher for her winning effort and recently visited the housing development to see her flag flying.

Bruce Murray, headteacher at the school, said: “The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the high standard of entries.”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are delighted with the winning flag design and indeed the other designs that we chose to create a welcome banner.”
