A TRANENT man has been ordered to stay out of trouble after he appeared in court to admit sending an abusive message to a neighbour on Hogmanay.

Christopher Storrie, of Civic Square, sent the abusive voicemail message to the woman, while he also acted aggressively towards her.

The 42-year-old shouted and swore during the recording and then uttered threats of violence and kicked out at her front door during the incident at her home on December 31 last year.

Storrie pleaded guilty when he appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.

A plea of not guilty was accepted by the Crown to a charge of uttering offensive remarks towards police officers at St Leonard’s Police Station in Edinburgh on the same date.

Sheriff Roderick Flinn heard that Storrie was currently on a community payback order imposed for a previous offence and deferred sentence for him to be of good behaviour to May 1.
