HUNDREDS of people flocked to Haddington town centre for the final farmers’ market of 2023.

Twenty-five stallholders were on hand last Saturday, offering a wealth of different foods, drinks and gift ideas.

Val Shields, from Haddington Farmers’ Market, was pleased to welcome along Haddington Pipe Band, as well as entertainment from Haddington Primary School and The Compass School.

She said: “It seemed to be very busy from what I could see.

“I think we had a good turnout of people.

“We had the entertainment and we had the choirs, which obviously brought in family and friends, especially for the schoolchildren.

“The weather was nice and that helped but we had a really good mix of stalls and that helps too.”

The farmers’ market, which has been running since 2000, will return to its traditional last Saturday of the month slot in January.

And Ms Shields was confident that crowds would continue to head to the town’s Court Street for the market.

She said: “I think we are attracting people.

“There are a lot of new people who have moved to East Lothian and we are definitely seeing a lot of new people.”
