A FESTIVE experience with a difference gets under way at Archerfield Walled Garden tonight (Friday).

Event designers Rogue Village will premiere The Christmas Tipi, which is described as “an intimate and high energy theatrical experience like no other”.

Set in a giant tipi, they aim to turn Christmas upside down with performances including classic Christmas music reimagined and remixed by a world champion beatboxer, Christmas-inspired freestyle rap and dance solo, The Toy That Santa Forgot.

Peter Maniam, Rogue Village co-director, said: “We wanted to create something unique for audiences this year, we felt like the Christmas event marketplace had become a bit saturated by light shows and wonderlands and that it was time to offer something different.

“Our beautiful tipi will be the perfect backdrop to some incredible performances and all sheltered from the elements.”

Audiences can expect a feel-good party atmosphere with some of the UK’s leading performers, including multiple world champion beatboxer Hobbit from The Beatbox Collective, BBC Dancer of the Year 2022 finalist Lauren Scott and one of London’s finest rappers Kingpin.

Fellow Rogue Village co-director Jenny Maniam added: “When we had kids it was hard to find events that the kids, grandparents and we would all enjoy equally.

“It’s the holy grail for a family event and we’ve really tried to find that sweet spot with The Christmas Tipi.”
