MUSSELBURGH Grammar School will celebrate the festive season this evening (Thursday) with its annual Christmas concert.

Starting at 7pm, the event is a showcase of talent, featuring the school’s young musicians.

The concert will bring together a variety of musical genres, from holiday classics to modern favourites, ensuring there is something to suit a variety of tastes.

Up to 100 young people will perform with the wind band, orchestra, choirs, various other instrumental ensembles and rock bands.

They will perform for parents, carers, friends and family, as well as the school’s music and instrumental staff.

Jodie Hannan, headteacher, said: “We even have some special visitors from our feeder primaries playing in the junior wind band.”

Tickets are available to parents via SchoolPay and can be bought on the door on the evening.

All funds raised will go towards putting on further performing opportunities, musical trips, new instruments to support ensembles and the school’s hardship fund.
