Today’s racing at Musselburgh Racecourse has been abandoned after two inspections due to bad weather.
An inspection of the ground was carried out at 6.30am this morning, with a further inspection carried out at 8am. However, with temperatures forecast to only reach one degrees Celsius, racing has now been cancelled.
A spokesperson for the racecourse said it had been a “close call” but with overnight frost and daytime temperatures not expected to rise, the decision was taken to abandon the meeting.
Ticket holders will be able to transfer their ticket to select race days or obtain a full refund.
