SNOW and ice are being forecast for much of East Lothian this evening (Tuesday).

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for a large percentage of the county.

The warning is in place from 5pm until 11am tomorrow (Wednesday).

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Icy patches and snow are possible, and may lead to hazardous conditions Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday morning.

“What to expect:

“Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

“Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

“Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”

The warning stretches from the outskirts of Edinburgh down Scotland’s east coast, across the border and as far south as near York.

A separate yellow weather warning for snow and ice is also forecast from 5pm tomorrow until 11am the following day.
