Longniddry has been gifted a new Christmas tree for the village thanks to the kind donation of two community members.
The village tree, outside the Royal British Legion, had to be removed earlier this year after it died. But community members from Longniddry Garage and Savannah Hair Salon, as well as garden service Hard Graft, have helped plant a new tree in the village.
Helen York, chair of Longniddry Community Council, said: “The sad news is that you all probably noticed that our village Christmas tree unfortunately died and was removed.
“But the good news is that, due to a very kind-hearted gesture from David at Longniddry Garage and Stacey from Savannah Hair Salon, a new tree has been purchased and planted in its place. It is now ready to be lit up for Christmas.
“The tree was planted by the team from Hard Graft, who have also kindly offered to take care of its watering and ongoing maintenance.
“Big thank you to everyone involved in this community project.”
