A MUSSELBURGH man has been fined after he struggled violently with police while being arrested in Edinburgh.
Daniel Knox had been apprehended following allegations he assaulted a McDonald’s restaurant employee by pushing him and spitting on him at an outlet on South St Andrew Street.
Knox was also alleged to have challenged others to fight with him during the alleged incident on September 4, 2021.
Police were called and, when they arrived, Knox, of Burns Wynd, struggled violently with two officers and uttered derogatory remarks.
The 22-year-old appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, where he had not guilty pleas accepted to the assault charge involving the McDonald’s employee and challenging people to fight with him.
But Knox did plead guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and struggling with police. Sheriff Iain Nicol fined Knox £520.
