A PRESTONPANS man who breached a court order and was caught in possession of a knife and Class B drugs has been jailed.

David Couch had been sentenced on a separate matter at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on September 9 last year with the condition that he adhered to a home curfew order.

He was told he had to stay within his home between the hours of 7pm and 7am as part of a restriction of liberty order imposed by the court.

Couch subsequently broke the court order by failing to comply and was spotted outside his home by police officers between those hours on August 28 this year.

The offences were also aggravated by the fact 37-year-old Couch had been on bail at the time with the same condition he stay at home between the same hours.

When apprehended by police officers, it was discovered that Couch was carrying an offensive weapon, namely a knife, along with a quantity of cannabis.

Couch, of Middleshot Square, was remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance on Monday, where pleaded guilty to the offences.

Sheriff Julius Komorovski revoked the restriction of liberty order and jailed Couch for a total of 146 days across all charges.
