A TRANENT resident has been found guilty of attending at his neighbour’s home and behaving in an aggressive manner.

Brandon Gay was seen repeatedly striking out at the front door of his next-door neighbour’s property at Somers Park.

Gay, 22, was also found guilty of assaulting a man by placing him in a headlock and punching him to the body during the same incident on September 27 last year.

Gay had denied the charges but was found guilty after he stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.

Prior to the trial, Gay had also lodged guilty pleas to charges of attempting to contact two witnesses on October 18 after he had been told not to following a court appearance on October 3.

He also admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and repeatedly shouting and swearing on the same date.

Sheriff John Cook ordered the preparation of social work reports and deferred sentence to November 21.
