THE Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) is looking into an incident after a man was caught on camera apparently pushing and kicking a dog in Musselburgh on Friday evening.

A video, which has been circulated on social media, was filmed by a passer-by near Clayknowes Court and appears to show the man arguing with someone before returning to a dog, which he was walking, and pushing and kicking the animal.

The man is then seen walking away with the dog on a leash.

The incident was reported to police, who said it was then passed on to the SSPCA.

A spokesperson for the SSPCA said: “We are aware of this incident and it is currently under investigation.

“If anyone is concerned about an animal, please do not hesitate to contact the society’s confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”

The video was shared on Facebook by animal rights blog UK Animal Cruelty Files (UKAF), which claims to have passed the name and address of the man in the video on to the SSPCA.
