A HERD of fluffy friends have stopped off to meet the residents of Haddington Care Home.

The four-legged animals from John Muir Alpacas proved a huge hit as they visited the home, meeting with the residents.

For some of the residents, this was their first time getting up close to an alpaca.

Leigh Young, newly appointed manager of the care home on Mill Wynd, said: “My aim for Haddington is that we not only provide the very best care but also a lifestyle that offers enrichment and variety for our residents.

“Having the alpacas to visit was just one of some new activities that we’ve been offering, and which have been a total hit with the residents and team alike.

“Often there is a myth that when people move into a care home they no longer have the opportunity to continue with hobbies and interests or to try new things.

“Haddington has been founded on the belief that everyone deserves to live a complete and meaningful life, and myself and the team take pride in providing a loving and supportive environment where everyone can live a full and enriched life.”
