A NOTE of thanks is to be issued to North Berwick Youth Project (NBYP) on behalf of North Berwick Community Council for its role in “saving lives”.
North Berwick Youth Project has been running since 2001 and was one of the first youth cafes in Britain.
The cafe evolved into an organisation offering young people support, a base to come and spend time with friends and employability support.
It is also a place where young people can go if they need support with issues that are affecting their lives.
Liz Martin, community councillor, said: “NBYP is saving lives in this town. The community council should recognise the work Lauren [Cowie, project leader] does at the youth project – because it’s massive.”
The group agreed with Liz’s comments and announced its intention to commend Lauren for her work.
