POWER tools, jackets and a handbag have all been stolen from vehicles in Haddington in the space of just over a week.

Police are carrying out evening patrols in a bid to catch those responsible and prevent further crimes.

Officers highlighted five incidents, which took place between September 8 and 16.

Among those was a pink Michael Kors leather handbag containing financial items stolen from a blue/purple Vauxhall Corsa on Lennox Road between September 11 and the following day (Incident 0589 - September 12).

Then, between September 13 and 14, a black Nike puffer jacket and a Superdry jacket were stolen from a blue Vauxhall Astra on the town’s Abbots View (Incident 2127 - September 15).

Between September 8 and 11, Milwaukee electrical tools were taken from a blue Renault Panel van on Riverside Place (Incident 4045 - September 12) and DeWalt electrical tools were taken from a white Nissan NV400 at Briery Bank at about 2.45am on September 16 (Incident 1031 - September 16).

Finally, Snap-on electrical items were taken from a gold Land Rover Freeloader on Riverside Drive between September 17 and 18 (Incident 0976 - September 18).

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Should you have any information about the above incidents, please contact 101 quoting the corresponding incident number.

“Please be assured that inquiries are ongoing, and routine patrols are carried out by officers working in the evenings.”
