VISITORS to two county beauty spots have been reminded not to feed carrots to the popular ponies.
The animals can be found at both Traprain Law and North Berwick Law.
The ponies, which were introduced more than a decade ago for conservation purposes, graze on the grass, keeping it short and reducing the risk of wildfires.
However, for the second time in a matter of months, East Lothian Council Countryside Rangers have had to issue a reminder not to feed the ponies.

They said: “Once again we have had reports of people feeding carrots to the Exmoor ponies at North Berwick Law.
“These ponies, and those at Traprain Law, are wild and have plenty of lovely grasses and plants to choose from.
“It is essential for their health that the public do not feed them.”
