A Musselburgh entrepreneur has been shortlisted in the Scottish Women’s Awards.

Geraldine McCullagh, a qualified clinical aromatherapist and founder of Me-Time Therapies, is hoping for success in the Beauty Entrepreneur Category.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow this Saturday.

Me-Time Ethical skincare products are handcrafted and made by Geraldine at her Musselburgh-based business.

She explained that her products are made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, using therapeutic grade aromatherapy oils and high-quality base ingredients.

Geraldine, a passionate advocate for small businesses, said: “It feels amazing to be nominated for this award and to be recognised alongside such an inspiring group of talented women.

“The last few years have been extremely challenging for small business owners and, for me, this is an opportunity to celebrate all of the hard work that has kept the business on track and moving forward”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Women’s Awards said: “The sheer talent, resilience and commitment exhibited by the finalists have left us in awe.

“Their achievements are an inspiration to women everywhere, empowering future generations to aim high and break barriers.”

After establishing her aromatherapy business in 1996, Geraldine undertook further qualifications in reflexology and mindfulness teaching, combining both disciplines to provide complete body-and-mind therapies, eventually incorporating them into a programme of training courses.

The pandemic brought unforeseen challenges but, having devised and created her own products for use in her therapy business, Geraldine saw an opportunity to make these available to a whole new client base.

She is now focusing her business on her products – her existing range and new developments for the future.
