An all-American style tailgate party will be hosted by The Mercat Grill, in Whitecraig, on September 10, to celebrate the start of the Rugby World Cup and the NFL season.
At 3pm there will be a BBQ, followed by the chance to watch Scotland’s first match against South Africa in the World Cup, kicking off at 4.45pm.
From 6pm, the focus will be turned to the NFL, when American football fans can enjoy the games being aired.
Graham Blaikie, owner of the Mercat Grill, said: “I love my rugby and American football. It’s great to bring people together who have a passion for these fantastic sports.
“Last year we held our first-ever tailgate party and it was a big success. This is an all-American style party, which is a super social event.
“People gather and party around the tailgate (boot) of their car with drinks and a barbecue and these normally take place in car parks before a big, live sporting event, festival or even concert in the US!
“But we’ll have it in the safe environment of our closed-off car park, and people can spend the rest of the evening watching and enjoying the NFL games on our big screen.”
