A relieved Prestonpans mum has thanked the public for their help in finding her missing 13-year-old daughter.
Olivia Fraser was reported missing to police yesterday at about 11.30am after her mum said she did not show up to be picked up after school.
Olivia’s mum Elaine told the Courier that the Preston Lodge High School pupil had not attended her final class of the day and had switched off her phone.
A public appeal for help was launched on social media, and Elaine said Olivia was found in a house by police in the early hours of this morning.
Elaine said: “She was in a house: we received information that led us to there but ultimately we had to get the police to search.
“We are just glad she is OK.”
The worried mum’s appeal was shared far and wide on Facebook, reaching as far as Fife and beyond.
Elaine thanked the public and police for their efforts in finding her.
She added: “Thank you so much for everyone’s support.
“We are all just so exhausted and not quite sure how long it will take us to get over this but we are just so glad she is home.”
Police Scotland confirmed Olivia had been found.
