A housebuilder’s donation has been welcomed by a county-based mental health charity.
Cruden Homes donated £500 to Prestonpans-based The Destiny Project to help fund its recently launched Wallyford In Bloom initiative.
The Destiny Project aims to promote the health and wellbeing of children and young people in East Lothian. The charity provides support to local communities through its engagement with younger generations, helping them to build connections and gain the skills they need to live independently and further their employment.
The donation will be used to support the community-centred project designed to protect the environment and spread positivity.
The scheme was launched by The Destiny Project last year and aims to bring together people who live and work in the village of Wallyford to create a “bloom of colour”.
Cruden’s donation will be used to purchase new planters and shrubs for display at Wallyford train station, as well as helping to enhance other nearby locations.
Cruden has said this gesture is to give back to the community of Wallyford, where the developer is building 101 new units, consisting of 41 private properties and 60 affordable homes.
