EAST Lothian’s Provost has championed the county’s big screen potential after it was used as the backdrop to a new BBC TV special.

The village of Tyninghame, along with Preston Mill, were used for the filming of a new Agatha Christie murder mystery, which is due to air this Christmas.

East Lothian has proven a popular site for filming of large productions, with the world-renowned Outlander also filmed at Preston Mill.

John McMillan, East Lothian Provost, was delighted to see the county once again featured and highlighted the financial benefits productions such as these can bring to the area.

He said: “East Lothian has been the backdrop for a number of TV and film productions in recent years and the council was delighted to help with arrangements for the BBC filming of an Agatha Christie murder mystery.

“Such productions encourage people to discover the delights of East Lothian for themselves and so provides a welcome economic boost as a result.”
