A MAN smashed a display cabinet in a Tranent shop and made off with four mobile phones.
Police are appealing for information following the robbery, which happened at about 4pm on Saturday at Phone Express on High Street.
A man entered the shop and smashed the display cabinet. Four phones were taken and the man made off in the general direction of Church Street initially, possibly using back alleys towards Foresters Park.
He is described as about 5ft 10ins, of slim build, and wearing a dark hoodie, a dark cap and a mask. He was carrying a bright red rucksack.
Detective Constable Garry Mauran said: “Fortunately no one was injured and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are keen to trace the man involved and I am asking anyone who saw what happened or saw the man to get in touch.
“In addition, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please make contact with us.”
