Police have confirmed that the body found on Mountjoy Terrace in Musselburgh yesterday was a 69-year-old man.
The death is being treated as unexplained but police say it is "not suspicious".
The man was found in the area in the early hours of yesterday morning, with police present throughout the day.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.15 am on Monday, 17 July 2023, a 69-year-old man was found deceased on Mountjoy Terrace, Musselburgh.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of his death which at this time, police are treating as unexplained but not suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
