A Tranent man who caused a domestic disturbance at a property in the town has been told he must not contact the complainer for 12 months.
Alistair Ramsay admitted repeatedly striking out at the front door of the home on Balfour Square and refusing to leave despite being asked to do so on several occasions.
Ramsay, of Coalgate Avenue, was also seen to intimidate the woman by pacing back and forth outside the property in February this year.
The 45-year-old pleaded guilty during a previous appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and was back in the dock for sentencing last Friday.
The Crown had previously accepted a not guilty plea to Ramsay, a father of one, possessing a quantity of cocaine at St Leonard’s Police Station on the same date.
Sheriff Adrian Fraser placed Ramsay under the supervision of the social work department for the next 12 months and handed out a non-harassment order for the same length of time. The sheriff also issued a conduct requirement where Ramsay must attend alcohol services when required to do so by his supervising officer.
