CHILDREN from St Gabriel’s RC Primary School were guest visitors to Prestonpans Community Council to talk about a recent project they had been involved in.

The pupils put together a video in partnership with BBC Scotland’s Learning Lab to celebrate their favourite parts of Prestonpans.

BBC Scotland Learning LAB has been working with P7 pupils across Scotland on a series of workshops as part of its ‘Then & Now’ project.

For their film, St Gabriel’s RC Primary School pupils chose Prestongrange Museum, Morrison’s Haven, Preston Tower, the beach and a number of the town’s parks.

The community council invited the children along to their meeting to thank and congratulate them.

At the meeting, DJ Johnston-Smith, chair of the community council, asked the two girls representing the school what their favourite parts of Prestonpans were.

They highlighted Prestongrange Museum along with the parks, including the ‘secret park’, as their favourites.

When asked if there was anything that the children wanted to see change in Prestonpans, one responded by saying “no new Co-ops” – to much laughter from the group.
