A WELL-KNOWN figure in the hospitality industry is stopping off in East Lothian for a special evening.
Shirley Spear is best known for her time at the helm of globally renowned restaurant The Three Chimneys.
Guests at The Bonnie Badger will have the opportunity to hear Shirley’s stories about taking over the restaurant in Skye, becoming an ambassador for Scottish food and drink, and defining moments and memories from The Three Chimneys’ history.
Shirley dedicated more than 35 years to driving change in the Scottish food and drink industry – dedication that was recognised and celebrated with an OBE in 2016.
The Three Chimneys became a culinary destination, showcasing Scotland’s larder, becoming a Gold five-star restaurant with rooms, and helping to put Skye on the culinary map.
Tom Kitchin, chef owner of the Gullane restaurant, was looking forward to the event on May 18.
He said: “Shirley continues to be an inspiration to many and we look forward to bringing some of her favourite recipes to life and sharing them with our guests.”
