A VAN has been severely damaged after it was pushed into Cockenzie Harbour by vandals yesterday.

The incident took place at about 7.20am on Sunday morning, with police believing that someone had entered the insecure vehicle and released the handbrake before pushing it into the harbour.

The van became stuck upside down within the harbour, suffering severe damage to its roof, windscreen and bonnet.
