A PRESTONPANS thief has avoided punishment after he stayed out of trouble for six months.

Christopher Storrie stole a quantity of alcohol from the Day-Today store on the town’s Redburn Road on July 31, 2021.

Storrie, 41, also took food items without paying for them at the same outlet on November 4 the same year.

He also admitted a third offence where he attended at a home at Grange Grove uninvited and acted in an aggressive manner.

Storrie shouted and swore at the occupants during the incident on October 9, 2021.

He pleaded guilty to the three charges during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last August and sentence had been deferred for him to be of good behaviour.

Last Wednesday, Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss was told that there had been no further offending and decided to hand out an admonition.
