PILGRIMS will pull on their walking boots next month to walk between two churches.
The Traprain Pilgrimage follows in the footsteps of The Rugged Pathway Pilgrimage, which connected St Mary’s Parish Church in Haddington and Whitekirk’s St Mary’s Parish Church.
Last year, walkers instead made their way between Athelstaneford and Prestonkirk in East Linton.
This year, the group will follow this same route, starting with a service in Athelstaneford at 10am on May 13.
The Rev Douglas Hamilton, minister for the Parish of Traprain, will lead the service before pilgrims head east on the five-mile route.
The walk will finish at Prestonkirk Church, where Mr Hamilton will lead a second service followed by a picnic lunch in the stables.
Those attending should bring a packed lunch. There will be an opportunity to donate to Christian Aid at both Athelstaneford and Prestonkirk.
