Preparations are well under way for this year’s Fisherrow Harbour Festival.

The event will have a focus on community, land and water-based activities in a bid to showcase the area and celebrate the local community.

Scheduled for May 20, a day of fun-filled activities is being organised, with entertainment for all ages set to be on offer.

Visitors can expect a range of activities including a raft race, treasure hunt, live music from pop, rock, folk and brass bands, pop-up shops, food trucks and stalls.

Stuart Rillie, chairman of the Fisherrow Harbour Festival committee, said: “Our goal this year is to celebrate the local community around Fisherrow Harbour and give people an opportunity to come together and enjoy the beautiful seaside surroundings.

“We want to showcase the fantastic water-based and seafront activities available to us and encourage more people to enjoy them throughout the year.”

The committee is hoping to raise more than £3,000 through sponsorship, with local businesses signing up for bronze, silver, gold or stage sponsor packages.

This will allow the team to put on a “varied and entertaining” event with something for all the family.

Straightline Consulting, Specsavers, VPZ, Musselburgh Racecourse and Eskmills are already on board as sponsors.

“We’re excited to offer a fun-filled afternoon for everyone in the community to enjoy, which will highlight the rich cultural and historical significance of Fisherrow Harbour and its surroundings,” Mr Rillie added.

The committee is grateful to everyone who supports and contributes to the festival, and looks forward to welcoming everyone to the event.
