North Berwick ranked as one of the best seaside towns in the UK

North Berwick was ranked one of the best in the country by the newspaper with it scoring an 80 out of a possible 100.

The publication gave the East Lothian town the score after looking at a number of metrics

It said: "We chose a score of classic resorts and studied how they have adapted – or not – over the past three decades, looking at factors such as housing and high streets, renovations and conservation, as well as the cultural clout that so often accompanies gentrification."

This comes as other seaside towns like St Ives in Cornwall earned the top spot at 98/100.
