A NORTH Berwick man made threats towards supermarket employees by claiming he had a gun.

Jordan Brown, of Cooper Avenue, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing while at the Tesco store on Dundas Street, Edinburgh.

Brown also stated he was carrying a gun and made threats towards an employee after turning up at the Capital supermarket.

The 34-year-old also assaulted an unknown female customer during the incident on March 30, 2021.

He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to the offences.

Sheriff Peter McCormack deferred sentence to next month for the preparation of social work reports.
