INDUSTRIAL units have been given the go-ahead, despite concerns that people will park on nearby residential streets.

Five class five (general industrial) units were approved by East Lothian Council’s planning department.

Planning officials noted that there was a letter of objection to ITEC (Scotland) Ltd’s plans for the site.

The planning report notes: “The main grounds of objection are that the employees of the existing businesses at Spott Road already park on nearby residential streets and that this proposal will exacerbate that.”

The council’s road services department were asked for their thoughts.

They were “satisfied” with the proposed parking and cycle parking, and the report says: “The proposals should not result in inconsiderate parking on nearby residential streets.”
