A CAR wash could be created beside a busy retail park on the outskirts of Haddington.
Gleam Machine Haddington is looking to open a drive-in car wash business off the A199, to the rear of Haddington Retail Park.
The development, which is being weighed up by East Lothian Council’s planning department, would be to the east of the Oaktree Junction on the A1.
Documents with the application show there would be two wash bays and two car parks, which would be operated through a one-way system.
Vehicles coming out of the business will also only be allowed to turn left given the proximity of the roundabout.
The document reads: “It is predicted that the introduction of a car wash facility in the vicinity of the Oaktree junction will not have an impact on the operation of the surrounding road network.”
