M&Co stores in Haddington and Musselburgh are preparing to close and have slashed prices on products throughout the store.
It comes after M&Co entered into administration last month putting the future of the business in doubt.
No official date of closure has been confirmed for the stores on Court Street in Haddington and High Street in Musselburgh but major clearance sales are being offered to customers and it is understood that the Haddington branch has enough stock to last until Easter.
Administrators continue to look for a buyer for the business but no buyer has been found yet.
Following the chain going into administration Councillor John McMillan, East Lothian Council’s cabinet spokesperson for economic development, said: “It’s a worrying time for employees of the M&Co branches in Haddington and Musselburgh.
“I understand the administrators are currently looking to find a buyer. East Lothian Council will continue to monitor the situation.”
