A MAN has been charged following an alleged incident in Tranent in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday) in which a 55-year-old was injured.
Police were called to the town’s Northfield area and the 55-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Police have subsequently charged a 57-year-old man in connection with the alleged incident and he was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Thursday).
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Shortly before 3.30am on Wednesday, December 28, we were called to a report of a man being injured on Northfield, Tranent.
"The 55-year-old was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
"A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and is due in Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, December 29."
