A PRESTONPANS man caught with an offensive weapon has been admonished following a period of good behaviour.

Christopher Garritty was found to be in possession of a screwdriver in a public place: the town’s Polwarth Crescent on May 26 last year.

Garritty, of Longdykes Road, pleaded guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last year and sentence had been deferred for him to stay out of trouble.

The 30-year-old was back in the dock last Wednesday, where Sheriff Roderick Flinn was told he had been of good behaviour since his last court visit.

The sheriff said he was content to warn Garritty of his future behaviour and admonished him on the charge.
