Tranent Parish Church hosted a guild rededication service at the end of last month, where certificates were handed out totalling 432 years of service to the church.
Tranent Guild members Fiona Scott (17 years), Jane Pow (20), Mairi Dodds (20), Agnes Davidson (20), Christine Young (27), Agnes Jack (30), Janette Logan (32), Jean Henderson (37), Janette McKenzie (37), Kathleen Gilmer (38), Janette McGlashan (38), Molly McNeil (38) and Helen McLeod (42) were all recognised.
Certificates were presented to guild members by Tranent Parish Church minister, the Rev Katherine Taylor, at the special service.
The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement within the Church of Scotland which “invites and encourages both women and men to commit their lives to Jesus”.
With about 15,000 members, the guild is one of Scotland’s largest voluntary organisations.
The guild has raised money for various charities across the globe, including eating disorder charity Blether with the Beat and adoption charity Homes for Good.
