REMEMBRANCE services take place across East Lothian this weekend to remember those who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars and other conflicts.

In Wallyford, a service is held at 10.30am tomorrow (Friday) at the Crookston war memorial in tribute to the men from Wallyford, Smeaton and Deantown (Whitecraig) who died in the First World War.

West Barns holds a service on Saturday at the Memorial Garden, led by the Rev Brian Hilsley from Belhaven Church, beginning at 10.50am.

Most communities hold their services on Sunday.

In North Berwick, a parade starts at the Imperial car park before heading to Abbey Church, where the service will be conducted by the Rev Dr David Graham at 10.30am. The parade then marches to the war memorial on East Road. At noon, the wreath ceremony and Act of Remembrance are led by the Rev Dr Neil Dougall.

The Dunbar branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a service with a parade setting off towards the war memorial from outside Legion Close on High Street at 10.30am.

In Prestonpans, a parade marches from the Royal British Legion at 10.30am, arriving at the war memorial at 10.50am.

In Athelstaneford, a short service is held at the war memorial at 10am. There is also a service at Stenton Parish Church at 9.45am and one at Prestonkirk Parish Church in East Linton at 10.45am.

A short service and laying of wreaths at the war memorial in Haddington takes place at 10.30am, followed by a church service at St Mary’s Parish Church at 10.50am. A parade will also leave from outside the town's Corn Exchange at about 10.15am.

Cockenzie and Port Seton Royal British Legion holds a service at the war memorial in Cockenzie. A parade leaves the Legion at about 10.30am before heading to the war memorial for about 11am.

In Tranent, a service takes place with a procession leaving East Lothian Co-operative Bowling Club at about 10.25am before heading to the war memorial for 10.50am. A service takes place at Tranent Parish Church at 11.30am.

A remembrance service is held at Elphinstone war memorial. The parade leaves the miners’ club at about 1.45pm before going to the war memorial for the service at 2pm.

Ormiston Parish Church holds a remembrance service at 9.30am before heading to the war memorial at 10.15am.

In Musselburgh, Remembrance Sunday begins with a parade of uniformed organisations and local dignitaries which will leave the Old Town Hall on High Street at 10.15am bound for a service at St Michael’s Church, Inveresk. Wreaths will be laid at the memorial outside the church.

The parade then makes its way back into the centre of Musselburgh for a short service, with Deputy Lieutenant Lyn Marshall taking the salute outside Lewisvale Park.

A short service, conducted by members of the clergy, will be held at the memorial at The Mall at about 12.30pm.

A remembrance service is held at Gladsmuir Parish Church at 10.45am with another service at the same time at Longniddry Parish Church.

A service is held at Pencaitland Parish Church at 10.45am, followed by another at the war memorial at 11.50am.

In Gifford, a service starts at 10.50am at Gifford war memorial led by the Rev Jim Black and a seperate service starts at the same time in Bolton Church

Gullane Parish Church holds a service at 9.45am, followed by a service at 11am at the village’s war memorial.

In Aberlady, a service will be held at the war memorial at 11am, followed by a church service at Aberlady Parish Church at 11.15am.

A service takes place in Dirleton at the war memorial at 11am.
