A SUCCESSFUL ‘Blingo Bingo’ night raised vital funds for the First Step Community Project in Musselburgh.

Supporters were invited to put on their “bling,” with a prize for the best dressed table.

Everyone took along their own food and drink, and bingo was enjoyed at the event in Loretto Church Hall.

Organisers later said it was “a fantastic community event” which raised £1,700 for the Galt Avenue-based initiative.

Katherine Sangster, First Step chairperson, said: “We have certainly established our Blingo night as an annual event in the Musselburgh community calendar and look forward to next year.”

Tina Pollock, project manger, added: “Thank you to everyone that came along to our first Blingo Bingo fundraiser night. We raised an amazing £1,700 which will go towards supporting local families.

“It was lovely to see so many people from the local community supporting First Step. A huge thank you to our board members Alana Nunn, Katherine Sangster and Rachel Wales for organising such a successful evening.”

First Step offers a range of services including nursery provision for children, groups and courses for parents, outreach and family support, support for young parents, a grandparents’ group and family room.
