AMBITIOUS plans for more than 70 new homes and upgraded facilities at Dunbar Golf Club have been given the go ahead.
Seven members of East Lothian Council’s planning committee approved the proposals from the golf club and Cala Management Ltd earlier today (Tuesday).
Seventy eight houses – split over two sites – will be created alongside a new clubhouse, driving range, short course and practice area.
The proposed 78 houses are being promoted by the applicant as a necessary provision of enabling development to cross-subsidise the development of the new golf facilities.

At the conclusion of the virtual meeting, committee members voted by seven to three in favour of the application, subject to a number of conditions and to the prior conclusion of a legal agreement to secure financial contributions towards accommodation at local schools, transport improvements and sports pitch provision.
