Water has been restored to homes in Prestonpans after a burst pipe on the High Street left was repaired by Scottish Water.

Residents had experienced issues from around midday today with around 35 homes having weak or no water flow.

Scottish Water repaired the burst water pipe at around 2pm with water being restored shortly after.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “Scottish Water were alerted to customers experiencing a loss of water supply just before midday today (Tuesday).

"Our teams attended and located the burst water pipe on High Street that was impacting 35 properties.

"The repair was completed at around 2pm with water being restored to customers shortly after this.

"We would like to thank customers for their patience while we carried out this essential repair work.”
