SURFERS and underwater creatures are among the attractions in Dirleton’s annual scarecrow trail.
The competition is now in its third year and there are 20 scarecrow creations to be spotted throughout the village.
Judges cast their eyes over the scarecrows on September 25 and prizes were awarded across three categories during the Dirleton Market.
The results were:
- Scarecrow That Made the Judges Smile the Most: 1 The Surfers – Anna Baltzer and family; 2 The Railway Gardeners – Rosemary Carthy; 3 Mr Bean – Amy Breckon and family.
- TV/Book/Film Scarecrows: 1 HappyNess – Millie and Flynn Jones; 2 Spongebob Strawpants – the Salter family; 3 Bob the Builder – Emma Scott.
- Harvest/Traditional: 1 Haymish Strawbody – Richard and Emily Kitto; 2 Dingle Dangle Scarecrow – Dirleton Playgroup; 3 The Animal Lover Scarecrow – Anderina Soave.
The Scarecrow Trail runs until Sunday and trail maps are available from beside the scarecrow couple sitting on the circular bench on Dirleton Green.
