THERE will be no trains operating in East Lothian tomorrow due to strike action from RMT members.

Trains across the UK, including East Lothian, will face significant disruption tomorrow and on Sunday as more than 40,000 RMT members from Network Rail and 15 train operating companies are expected to strike on Saturday and on October 8 in a dispute over pay and working conditions.

ScotRail has warned customers to expect significant disruption as a result of the 24-hour strike action.

The pay dispute does not involve ScotRail; however, Network Rail signallers and maintenance staff, who are in ‘safety-critical’ roles, are striking and this will impact services at ScotRail.

The Edinburgh to North Berwick services will not run due to planned engineering works on the route while the Edinburgh to Dunbar services will also not run tomorrow.

Disruption will continue into Sunday where both services will be replaced by a bus service on the day.
