AN EXHIBITION featuring eight artists inspired by Amisfield Walled Garden shuts its doors on Sunday.

The artists have joined together to celebrate “the beauty, tranquillity and inspiration” hidden behind the walls of the garden on the outskirts of Haddington.

Flowersmith Ruth Alder; basketmaker Lise Bech; painter and printmaker Jonathan Gibbs; elected associate member of the British Society of Master Glass painters Kate Henderson; painter Jessie Ann Matthew; print and pattern maker Kate Millbank; ceramic sculptor Susan Nuttgens; and artist Sylvie Soudan, who has collaborated with Dawn French, are displaying their work.

After a year of studying the garden, each artist has created a response to the plants, people and stories that make the garden a unique and special location.

Their expertise in printmaking, willow weaving, stained glass, ceramics, painting and floristry combine to create the exhibition, the first of its kind to be held at Amisfield.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
