YOUNGSTERS brought the curtain down on another school year with two musicals.

Children at The Compass School finished for the summer holidays with two performances: pupils aged four to eight performed Go Fish!; followed by primary four to seven children who took to the stage to perform The Lion King Jnr.

The children’s performances took place in the theatre at Musselburgh’s Loretto School and Mark Becher, headmaster at the Haddington school, praised the efforts of everyone involved.

He said: “For years, we have finished the school session with our musical productions in the theatre.

“However, the pandemic has meant that we have been unable to perform to live audiences since 2019.

“We wanted to make our return to the theatre a truly memorable one and the children really rose to the challenge.

“From young to old, our children amazed their audiences by their confidence, enthusiasm and acting skills.”
