Open water swimming group Chill UK is hosting cold water therapy sessions in North Berwick to help relieve stress and improve one’s mood.

The sessions are funded by North Berwick Coastal Area Partnership and will give people of all ages the chance to access the health benefits of cold water immersion.

A Chill UK spokesperson said: “Making the most of the beautiful beaches of East Lothian, we are offering this cold water immersion course to provide adults of all ages with a safe and supportive way to access the health benefits of cold therapy.

“This course is open to adults of all ages in the North Berwick area, with no previous experience necessary.”

The first event will take place next Saturday (August 20) and sessions will then run weekly until October 8.

The sessions are free for those living in the North Berwick Coastal ward, which includes Aberlady, Ballencrieff, Dirleton, Drem, Fenton Barns, Gullane, Kingston, North Berwick and Whitekirk.

Those outside the ward who want to participate will need to pay a fee and should email to discuss.
