SIXTY-FIVE talented young performers have come together to rehearse and perform Disney’s High School Musical at The Brunton, in Musselburgh.
The two-week musical theatre summer school is run by the theatre’s professional production team, in partnership with Tommie Travers and David Ross.
The team have successfully worked with young amateur casts to present Oliver! in 2019 and Matilda in 2021 – The Brunton’s first live performance on stage after the Covid-19 pandemic closure.
This summer’s intensive programme for young, amateur performers ends with six fully staged performances of High School Musical from Thursday until Saturday, at 2pm and 7.30pm.
Throughout the rehearsal period, participants have taken part in drama games, workshops, improvisation, vocal technique classes, choreography and dance technique, and had a lot of fun.
The cast, from across East Lothian, Midlothian and Edinburgh, took a break from the rehearsal room on Saturday to give a short performance for passers-by outside the venue in Musselburgh.
Tickets are available from www.thebrunton.co.uk or 0131 653 4245.
