A CHARITY which helps women who have suffered addiction, domestic violence, anxiety and adverse experiences is holding its first live East Lothian workshop after a gap of two years.

Researched and developed by the team at ANAM CARA, the new course will cover three areas of self-focus: fear, courage and courage over fear.

The return to face-to-face weekly workshops follows online services provided by the charity, which covers East Lothian and Midlothian, during the Covid-19 crisis.

The sessions aim to enable women to improve their lives and emotional wellbeing, and also connect and regain social interaction.

Each workshop will include a series of discussions, activities and presentations, allowing participants to develop resilience and make positive changes to their lives.

The East Lothian workshop will take place on August 31 and will be held weekly at the MECA, Haddington Road, from 10.30am to 1pm.

Founder Maria Martin said: “Having supported over 280 ladies from East Lothian throughout the lockdown period, we are now delighted to be able to offer live workshops once more.”

Other workshops will be held on September 7, 14 and 21.
